By train

The Oberstaufen train station is situated in the centre of the village and at an altitude of 784 meters above sea level. It is the highest stop of the Allgäu Railway, which was put into operation in 1853. Today it is an integral part of the Munich / Augsburg / Ulm - Kempten - Lindau (Lake Constance) railway lines, which are run several times every hour and thus optimally connect Oberstaufen to the rail network. Upon arrival you will find the taxi rank on the station forecourt when you leave the underpass.

The most economical way for train travel within Bavaria is called "Bayern Ticket" as it includes an unlimited number of trips within Bavaria in one day! It is valid from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 3 am the next day and on weekends or on public holidays from midnight. The ticket costs € 26 for one traveler and is available for groups of up to 5 persons, increasing the price by only € 8 for each additional passenger.
